I have dozens of mpeg-files every day, and I want to automatically convert them to avi using divx with 300kbps with no sound. how can i automate this WITHOUT any user interaction. All i want is MYPROGRAM.BAT INPUT.MPG OUTPUT.AVI . . how can i do that? divx5.02 or whatever.

If you want to know how VDub works you have to look up the guides at this site. For the job-list:
Load your mpg-file in VDub.
Configure the settings for video, audio, etc...
Give it a name, say output.avi, but don't press OK, instead check the button "add to job-list" or something like that.
Load your second mpg-file, and repeat the steps above.
Finally you can do the job, or save it so that you can run it another time (in Job control).
Look in VirtualDubs Help, look under Advanced Topics/Command Line Options.

Not fully automated, but pretty quick:
- Set all converting parameters to your likings (and also remember "load/save processing settings")
- "File / Job Control // Edit / Process directory...
And there you are!
(And be sure no little kids are around when watching the results !?!? ;) )
