Hi,
I downloaded DVD2SCVD (which contains a collection of tools). My first "backup" didn't work out because I had some settings wrong.
Can I restart the proces right after where the VOB's are copied to my HD. According to the log-window right after copiing the VOBs to HD DVD2AVI is used. I tried to type-in the DVD2AVI command manually, with all parameters shown in the log-file on the command-line, but it doesn't work.

Problem solved. For those interrested: Follow de DVD2SVCD guide with these exeptions:
- Just select from the Conversion tab the already ripped IFO-file.
In the DVD2SVCD-guide it is stated that you should click on the disc-symbol. In this case you would have to click on the folder-symbol and select the IFO file in the directory where the ripped DVD-files are.
- On the DVDRip tab deselect DVD ripping.
This step skips the ripping altogether. Al other steps will use the vobs that are already in the directory.

Hi jansb000,
and if you have ticked the "Don't delete any files" option in "Misc." tab then you just have to hit the "Recover" button in "Misc." tab, load the "dvd2svcd project file.d2s" from your conversion directory and hit "Continue". ;) From the pulldown between the two buttons you can select from which step of the process you want to continue.
Hope this helps the next time,
Gerti

I am aware of the recovery option in DVD2SVCD but here is my problem.
When I load the recovery record there is no other step after "Video Encoding" which there should be. Video encoding is completely finished. How do I make DVD2SVCD continue after the encoding step?
Because I really don't want to have to encode again.

Hi Splater,
if you're sure that the "Video encoding" step finished properly, you can open the "dvd2svcd projejt file.d2s" with notepad for example and then increase the "Project Position=xx" parameter.
Usually, if you set it to "62" then you should have available all possible steps - but be awrare that you can choose only the next step after "Video encoding" then, as all other steps didn't finish yet, they are just shown inside the pulldown box.
After that save the changes and do a "Recover", now loading the altered project file.
Hope this helps,
Gerti

Thank you for the tip. Worked just fine.
I am so glad i didn't have to encode "John Q" over again.
I had a windows error and DVD2SVCD had to be shutdown but TMPGEnc was still encoding. When it finished D2S was not open to log that it had completed encoding, so I couldn't go any further than the encoding step.
