it's doesnt matter if you don't want preview of your project.

if you want preview install cinemaster 2000 codecs.

Where to get those codecs?

Install the Raviscent Cinemania 2000 software DVD player.

"Senior Member" just means they've posted a lot of stuff. Doesn't mean they've ever learned anything or said anything intelligent. Look at me! I have over 400 posts and I don't know a thing. hehe ;)

You might even consider buying a Cinemaster MPEG2 hardware decoder! I found one for about $80 secondhand and let me tell you, realtime preview on a TV is far superior to seeing it on the monitor...

The Ravisent codecs are all over the place, since Ravisent produce DVD software for many OEM clients. For example, the Matrox RT2500 editing card comes with its own Matrox player, but it's just a rebadged Ravisent player that just happens to install the relevant codecs...

Cinemaster software DVD players are not freeware.

and you can see field problems with the hardware card, that you wont see at all on software codecs.

Could someone who has a card like this perhaps have a quick look at this pic, if it's the right one?

i don't think so because they are saying to install the SOFTWARE/CODEC, not a whole new video card.

The software you can get for $50 at Sonic's website.

You understood ssomething wrongly DVD-Master. There are both possibilities, and if you read the thread more carefully before posting you would now that.

The card I mentioned before is Rev 2.3.
Is it worth buying it (for use in win2k?)

No, it isn't at all.
Works only under win95/98.

And the playing software coming on two 3,5" Discs isn't even capable of playing VCD/SVCD, so i'm currently searching for an alternative playing software.
