Since the Ac3 support is a little bit complicated :(
I decide to trancode all the 5.1 Ac3 to 6 ch Ogg Vorbis
(with automatic max gain).
So... I hope people can tell me more about your experience
...detail with your machine for this process.
How fast is the speed ? 2x, 3x ?
Thank you.

i'm not sure about playbacking options.. but i defenitly believe that 5.1 AAC is better than 5.1 Vorbis.

@DSPguru,
Thank you for your FAST reply ;)
How if I want to mux it with the AVI with Koepi's OggMux,
so I prefer use Ogg than Aac.
I think Tobias's OggDS filter can handle the 6ch Vorbis, isn't it ?
I also notice that the latest Vorbis Winamp plugin in_vorbis v1.2
now can play the multi-channel Ogg vorbis.
Any ideas ?

yeap, multichannel vorbis is supported by both OggDS & Winamp :).

Since I got 5.1 surround speakers (6ch analog out) I'm also experimenting with Vorbis 5.1 and AAC 5.1. Sadly, the Vorbis 5.1 playback is totally f** up on my machine. Depending on the driver I get everthing from no sound to stereo to 4 channel to center form left rear. Worst case was a blue screen when I switched Float to Int16 output.
On the other hand I didn't get AAC 5.1 playing. I tried WMP4Player and also this mpegable player. Maybe I didn't do everything right, I just have to get used to that MP4 things (no I didn't use the search button yet, so leave me my time).
Back to Vorbis I know for sure now that this is related to the drivers of my sound card which is a (sigh) Creative Audigy with attached Inspiron 5300 speakers. I still think the sound card itself is great and AC3 output is working well but the drivers **aargh**.
Guess, I tried everything now to get vorbis 5.1 working but no chance as long as the channel mapping is hardcoded in the DS filter (please Tobias, please).

@tiki4,
Yep,
I have the same problem like yours with the same card and speakers ;)
The 5.1 ogg not played well in my machine since the center sound is
moved to the front right speaker :(
...but at least the AC3 playback is OK only with SPDIF, still have
problem with analog 6 channels, center sound is moved to the front
right :( ... using WinDVD 4.0 iviaudio.ax.
Thank you.

I think I am having a similar problem, but on my stereo soundcard.
When I make a 5.1 Vorbis file, it plays perfect in Winamp, but with the OggDS filter in WMP, I can't hear the conversations, only the background stuff.
I'm using BeSweet1.4RC4, OggMachine 0.5, with this command:
"C:\BeSweet.exe" -core( -input "C:\dvd_rips\fight_club\disc_one\fight_club AC3 T01 3_2ch 384Kbps DELAY -95ms.ac3" -output "C:\dvd_rips\fight_club\disc_one\fight_club AC3 T01 3_2ch 384Kbps DELAY -95ms.ogg" -logfilea BeSweet.log -6chogg ) -azid( -L -3db -g max -c normal ) -ota( -d -95 ) -split( -start 90 -end 300 ) -ogg( -q 0.500 ) -profile( The OggMachine v0.5 )
Anyone know how to fix this?

It doesn't actually, the conversations are only audible on the right speaker.
