how do i save the damn avs file in gknot?

Oh man, c'mon, in the cropping-window, there's a 'save and encode'-option. Your question is quite silly, isn't it, and totally unrelated to XviD. Aren't you afraid to get striked or do you want us to believe you can't find the guides-section? I mean, you hardly give me a choice.

i seriously couldnt find where in the guide it tells u how to save. no joke. why else would i post the question? if i saw it i wouldnt waste my time asking.

The procedure is described in any of Doom9's rip guides that are based on Gordian Knot. Alternatively consult the Gordian Knot FAQ on the GKnot forum.

*sigh* OK, in GKnot klick the button 'open DVD2AVI project' or whatever its precise name is - you'll get a preview window - choose a resolution within the resolution tab, then go to the file-menue in the preview-window and choose 'save'. You'll get another dialogue with many options.

I don't like wasting my time with explaining such basic things that you could find out all by yourself.

if you have problems with Gordian Knot, you can try DVX, dealing with AviSynth script, you can use the built in AviSynth script editor. Yesterday I released 2.21 which has major improvements dealing with DivX and XviD codec settings, ogm Formnat support and stuff like that can be found in this new version
