Hi All,

I'm just wondering on the avg time it takes to crunch a movie in virtual dub. I'm new to all this so just trying to get an estimate of the amount of time required to complete a rip.

I'm doing my first right now, and it's estimated at about 55 Mins in VirtualDub.

There is no quick answer to this question. It depends on so many different factors that will be different for each user. (computer specs, concurrent programs running, etc.) 55 mins sounds pretty good.

How long is that movie, what filters are you using, what are the filter settings, what codec are you using and what are the codec settings?

If you leave this info unknown, "55 min" can be extremely good or extremely bad...

I can encode a movie on the same computer in 1 hour or in 72 hours, just by altering filters and codec....
