You always want to save Traffic right?

why don't you kick the unneded Buttons out?
- calender & members because they are not in use
- & with a littele hint you can hide the "user cp" button 2 guests and hide the "register" button tu logged in users,

this is not "much" traffic but think about it, 3 buttons less, each page view (yeah there is a browser cache but their are many user which don't use this cache ore only visit the page once - you know)

this verry litte change can save you some MB's each day, not very much but it helps... & it means ABSOLUTLY NO harm to the users rights & posibilitys...

hmm.. come to think of it it may not be such a bad idea to dump the buttons we don't need. traffic wise we're already ensuring that buttons are only re-sent periodically but you're pointing out further potential for optimizations.
