View Full Version : Using old DVD2SVCD file to mux with new Soundtrack

Creating SVCD with DVD2SVCD works just fine. Only trouble is my DVD player does not support a second soundtrack on SVCDs.
So I want a new set of CDs with the second languge.

Going through 14 hours of video encoding again when all you want is the same thing with a new sound track would surely be a waste of time - The video files are already completed.
So I start SVCD just to extract and convert the second soundtrack that I want and then stop it. Using TMPEG tools I then demux the 2 files that I already got and then mux it with the new soundtrack (using the TMPEG tools). This works for the first one of the 2 CDs but the the film is asynchronous by about 2-3 seconds.
Yet the second CD file doesn't work. After demuxing and muxing it just looks like the first but it is too big for Nero to accept it in a SVCD .
Cutting down the size doesn't work because the cutting tool of TMPEG refuses to open the file with some cryptic hyroglyphs.
So I am stuck here. .
What I also miss in the (asynchronous) CD that I created with TMPEG is that I can't use the function that allows you to jump entire chapters which works just fine with "original" CDs created with DVD2SVCD

Isn't there an easier and better way to do this ?
My dream would be to get DVD2SVCD started again by just resuming some script to merge the video files that were established for the first set of CDs and the new soundtrack and then have the same good quality as the first language set.
Any help is sincerely appreciated.
