I got this DVD, Good Fellas, and it´s double sided. So the problem is:
I rip and encode both separately and join them later on, or put all the vobs together to encode to one single .avi ? In the second case I would have to rename the B side vobs, cos the names are the same of the A side. What should I do?

If I´d had to join them afterwords, would be possible to join two segments with different bitrates? Or I´ll have to set the same bitrate before the encoding? What prog is the best to do it? Virtual Dub? Btw, I´m using Gknot .26 .

Thanx in advance,

You could rip the sides seperately and then rename the side B vobs so they follow numerically with side A and process it all at once OR you could make a seperate divx from side A and one from side B. You need to define your final goal. One divx file with a smaller bit rate (if you plan on putting on one cd) or two with larger bit rates.

You can join two divx files of different video bitrates no problem as long at the audio bitrates are the same. Yes Virtualdub or Nandub (if audio is vbr) would work fine for that.
