I've been having this problem for about a week now and all my dvdrips before it have worked perfectly. I was ripping the dvd Se7en and during the encoding process with CCE 2.5 it just stopped encoding and nothing happened after that. No error messages just nothing and the timer didnt even go up or down. I closed everything and used recover and it still just stopped like before. So i reripped the dvd and it did the same thing. Sometimes it would stop at the same percent sometimes not. So I got really pissed off and reinstalled windows hoping that would solve my problem. Today I tried ripping the negotiator dvd and the exact same thing happened during the encoding..IT JUST STOPS! WHY WHY WHY I read through the Q & A and I couldn't find anything that would solve my problem. Why is it that all my rips worked perfectly before adn now CCE just freezes up? My specs are:

P4 1600 mhz
768 mb ram
40 gig harddrive

I have also tried CCE 2.6 and that just works like shit on my computer so I use CCE 2.5 becuase it is much more stable.

You can try another movie but if its doing it on everything you are throwing at it then that sounds like hardware issues to me, you can download torture or stress tests on the net for free. Or you can take out the ram chips, and start encoding with just 1 ram chip if it finishes add another chip ect..

@adam1185
Have you made any hardware changes to your comp? If you have change them back to the way that it was before.

No I haven't made any changes. I've only ripped about 7 or 8 dvd's before this and my computer hardware is pretty new so I hope its not a hardware problem

Is there a specific point at which it freezes each time, like 25%, 33%, or the like?
