Hi all...

I'm ripping anime to SVCD, 2 episodes on each SVCD. Each episode contains 3 parts: opening, episode and ending. So the structure such be like this:

--opening
--episode 1
--ending
--opening
--episode 2
--ending

Each opening and ending are on different mpg streams. Episodes 1 and 2 are on the same MPG stream. As long as opening and ending are always the same, why not use PBC (playback control) to insert opening and ending where necesary via chaptering? Opening is about 30 Mb long, and ending is 20 mb long, so I want to use that 50 megs extra space to increase a the bitrate a bit. That is:

-MPG streams (physically stored on CD like this):

opening.mpg
episode1-2.mpg
ending.mpg

-Playback order:

opening (opening.mpg)
episode 1 (episode1-2.mpg -- chapter 1)
ending (ending.mpg)
opening (opening.mpg)
episode 2 (episode1-2.mpg -- chapter 2)
ending (ending.mpg)

As far as I know, VCDEasy and TSCV can't do that :_(

Does anyone know how to do that? (maybe by low level editing of the XML archive? If so, where can i learn about XML languaje?)

Thanks.

You can't do that... It's a limitation of VCD/SVCD format. Of course you can read the opening again after the first ending, but there's no way then to make the (S)VCD read the second episode after you re-read the opening, because there's no "history" function in VCD format.
