Hi,

I know, this is my first thread here. But I'm reading here for about 6 months and I'm not a Newbie ;) in converting movies (I've done about 50 movies).

But I always had (and still have) problems while converting a divx3-movie to mpeg2 with DVD2SVCD. CCE always freezes in different parts. With divx4-files there are no problems. I know, that there is a checkbox (Convert DIVX3 to DIVX4), but this checkbox is always greyed out. Hopefully one of you can help me here  I cannot find something to this about the search-function.

Thx,

DDP (sorry about my English)

I dunno what ur problem could because u haven't given any information.

What's the error message? (a log would be nice)
What version of CCE do u use?
What OS?
Are ur PC overclokced?

Have you DivX3 and DivX4 codec installed? if not, the box is greyed out...

Hi,

sorry, I have no log-file. There is no error-message. CCE freezes all the times (only if the source is Divx3 - I have no freezes if the source is Div4 or DVD). I use CCE 2.50 (Patch for Athlon installed)with the newest DVD2SVCD-Version. I have both Codecs (Divx3 and Divx4) installed. Is there a manual way to convert from Divx3 to Divx4?

Thx for your help,

DDP

My OS: WinME
My PC: AMD XP 1800+, 512 MB DDRAM Nanya, 80 GB Seagate Barracuda - no overclocking, RAM Settings at normal.

Hmmm. I was wondering could u post ur encoding settings too? They are located in the file called dvd2svcd.ini and can be found in ur output directory.

@pepsimaxx: If it works fine with DVD and Divx4, then his encoding settings can't make any difference.

@ddp: There are programs available for conversion between the codecs, I believe, just search on Google. However, you'd be much better off to fix the problem instead of using extra time to convert between codecs first. Do a reinstall of the Divx3 codec, and see if that helps you out.
