I use DVDidle and it lets me use TVout to watch my DVD's on my TV and then capture them to VHS tapes ;)

I un-installed the DVDIdle,
it slowdown my ripping speed :(

I prefer to patch the firmware since it will permanent solution,
and it's FREE ;)

I don't know if you watched that site a little more - see, his nick is fengtao. The site where this program is sold has at it's bottom this line: "Copyright (C) 2001-2002 Fengtao Software"

Some more words about these tools: fengtao demands 39.99$ for a "region free" tool where you get such tools for free on the net. Then there is this dvdidle-tool - a software that does nothing useful at all, it's just marketing blabla without scientific basics - there are freeware alternatives (cdbremse [i don't know if it's freeware but I'm sure there are alternatives]) which at least don't tell bullshit like "prolong your life" but just spin the drives at lower RPMs.

So what to do? If that guy is just here to advertise for his stuff, ban him! It's sure against the forum rules.

Regardless of the merits of his product (which I have no need for, so I can't say whether they work), this is an obvious violation of rule #5, and has earned him one strike.
