So I have a main menu which has Option A, a simple introduction still with a button link back to the main menu, and Option B, which should be a chapter selection menu into one of the features on this DVD.
I tried setting up the main menu in its own VTS, with the main menu as the root menu PGC, the introduction still in its own VTS, also as the root menu PGC, and the chapter selection menu also in its own VTS and also as the root menu PGC. The Video Manager domain has dummy PGCs to jump to each of these root menus, and that's how navigation between them is performed. The problem with this is that the main menu VTS and the introduction still VTS have empty titles/tracks, and Scenarist complains.
When I remove the introduction VTS and add the introduction still into the main menu title, I use a "Jump to PGC in System Space" command to link back to the main menu. The problem is this is that it remembers the introduction still as a resume PGC, such that when I browse from the introduction still to the main menu to the chapter selection menu, and then hit the "Title" button, it jumps back to the introduction still.
I hope this is making sense to someone.
I would just like for someone to lay down generally what the best way to structure a DVD menu system is... If putting the main menu in its own VTS a good idea... If these menus should be in the language folders or in the Title... How best to set things up so that no weird navigation issues occur, that's my main issue.
Right now my best bet is to have each menu in its own VTS, except I have to find a way to fill in these empty titles/tracks... Or is this a bad idea?
Thanks for listening... I hope someone has something really super intelligent to say about this, because it's confusing enough already.
