When you rip movies you can extract the chapter information so that when you play them back you can skip between chapters.

I would like to do something similar but have not been successful so far. I'm using ogg vorbis to encode a dj mix that is 70 minutes long. I tried to make my own chapter sheet and then 'mux' it in with the ogg vorbis file using OggMux. The buttons to move tracks don't work with it though. It would be cool to have the 70 minute cd in 1 file and still be able to move through tracks like on a cd.

1.) Does anyone know how to do this?

2.) Is this supported in Winamp?

Thanks in advance,

Partially, you need the oggDshow from Tobias page and then mplayer will show you the chapter like the movie. also if you search you 'll find a similar post weeks ago

I have the direct show filters installed and I am able to put chapters in movies, and that works. I can do it correctly for movies but it's not working for me for audio.

Here is what I do step-by-step:

1.) Rip my wav file from cd.
2.) Encode to ogg vorbis.
3.) Use OggMux to mux the ogg vorbis audio file, and a list of 'chapters' that represents the track.

Now, when I bring this up in mplayer2 or Zoomplayer, there is no chapter information for the file.

This is very frustrating since I can do this in a movie and I can't get it to work in a 70 minute mix cd.

Anyone have any clues to help me out?

Oh yeah, I did see the other post about it and that person has it working, I don't know if I'm doing anything different then him.

Thanks in advance,

- Niem

I seem to remember someone had done this and reported about it in DSPguru's audio section here .... try the search button with 'Vorbis' , 'Ogg' , 'Chapters' , 'Album' and see whats coming up ....
