MPEG2 not registering

Recently reinstalled OS and can't seem to get MPEG2 codecs to register ... (XP Pro)

I have an MPEG2 SVCD File that will play on PowerDVD, but thats it.

In the past, I have installed a seperate PowerDVD MPEG2 codec or the Elecard MPEG2 Codec to get WMP playback and others to edit ....

I have installed NIMO 5.7, both the MPEG2 codecs, nothing seems to work, can't load into TMPGenc or Flask either ...


Any ideas ?

Have you installed any form of DirectX 8.1b or any beta of XP-SP1? if so, you could consider a new clean install and not installing any of them. Hope this helps...

BTW, does DVD2AVI read your mpeg2 files?

Standard DirectX 8.1, No SP1 either.

DVD2AVI Does load the files ...


My previous system WOULD work with these files, I DID have DX9 Beta and SP1 1050 installed ... I didn't think they would affect codecs.
