I use TRILIGHT's guide and have made many successful backups, but I have been stumped on Training Day and The Royal Tanenbaums.
I use CCE 2.5 SP and DVD Maestro 2915a (I believe that is correct).
Training Day:
The video is not accepted in DVD Maestro (will get back to you with the exact error message).
The Royal Tanenbaums:
The AC3 file will not be accepted in DVD Maestro. It says that the bitrate varies. Tried AC3fix and it didn't help.
Anyone had successful backups of either of these two movies? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Special thanks to TRILIGHT for such a good guide!!

On "Royal Tenenbaums" I also got errors on the Dolby 5.1 track -- so I just went with track #2 (Dolby Surround 2/0). Sometimes it isn't worth the effort to try and make it perfect.

I appreciate your fast reply jdobbs. I will just do that then. Thanks.
Now that that is done...any help with Training Day?

Thanks for the kudos, Crzylgs15. As I listed in the guide, it will not work for multi-PGC titles. Apparently all Warner Brothers titles are. Checking the info on Amazon.com, it lists "Training Day" as coming from the Warner Home Video production company. I would assume this is WB just as the others people have had trouble with. If this is the case, you will probably have to extract individual PGC streams and rebuild the PGC's from scratch. Maestro does not emulate this functionality well at all. If you decide to tackle a more complex job like this, you'll need to read a lot more about multi-PGC titles and use something like ReelDVD.

Don't know if this helps but the AC3 VBR problem can be fixed using AC3Machine (GUI for Besweet). I had same problem with some Disney DVDs.
This method would allow you to re-encode AC3 5.1 VBR to AC3 5.1 CBR with no loss of channels.

Thanks cinephile!
I will give that a try. Any instructions on doing that or is it pretty easy to figure out?

There is a guiide on this site:
AC3 Machine Guide (http://www.doom9.org/ac3machine.htm)
.. but is pretty straightforward anyway (and quick). :)
