Hi, need some help with transcoding 5.1 ac3 from 384 kbps to 256 kbps - my first two attempts have had problems. I am ripping a movie and to increase the space available for the video on my DVD-R, I want to transcode my 384 kbps 5.1 ac3 file to a lower bit rate 5.1 ac3 file. I used DVD2AVI to demux the audio stream out. I used ac3machine to do the transcode following Doom's guide scrupulously ;) .
I then attempted to re-author the movie in SpruceUp (renaming the video and audio files so that SpruceUp will mux them). SpruceUp goes through the process of 'compiling' the media asset and then tells me 'media detection error'. It imports the video but not the audio.:angry:
What is going wrong here? I have BeSweet 1.3 - do I need 1.4 to transcode into 5.1 ac3?
