3 audio streams. is it possible?

is it possible to get D2S to rip 3 audio streams?
if No, fine
if Yes, pretty please with sugar on top, how do i do it.

The reason i want this is cos' i'm a comentary track freak.
It's the only reason i buy a DVD.
and lately the DVDs has 2 or more and i wanna rip 'em all

According to the tab "audio" u can only select two audio streams ATM.
So DVD2SVCD can't help u on that issue.

If there's another way to it I don't know about it.

You'd have to do the 3rd stream manually. Extract, encode, and mux, all separately.

Why would there be a need for 3 though?

Hi Demonpuppy,

the SVCD specs only support 2 stereo audio streams, so you can't have a 3rd one. Only way would be to have one stereo track and the second stereo track made out of two mono tracks so that you can switch to audio track 2 on your standalone and then switch between the left and the right channel - but with a low audio quality then.

But there's no easy way to do this automatically or even half-automated with DVD2SVCD. You would have to extract two audio streams with DVD2SVCD and then the third one with another DVD2SVCD conversion process. afterwards you have to process the extracted audio streams you want to convert to mono with an external audio app and then put them together as a stereo track, copy this track back to your first conversion naming it the exact same way like the second audio track and then do a recover/or continue the process.

That's the way it could be done, but you have to figure it out on your own. ;)

When I first got my DVD player(APEX AD-5131) I was wondering the same thing. And since you're already out of the "specs", you can try to go higher with the video bitrate so the third audio track doesn't degrade the video quality. We use 2-3 CD's for 3 hour movies with 2 audio tracks, so why not 4 CD's for one with 3 tracks. You'd have to do the muxing on your own as dvd2svcd is not built for this, but something like TMPGEnc or even bbmpeg could mux them just fine. Do some tests for us and see.

An easier alternative would be to just create a second set of CD's with the main audio and your third audio track. Then you just pop in whichever set you feel like hearing the comments for.
