So what sort of video bitrates are you getting from one cd rips. In all honesty, I fail to see how a 1 cd rip could be so good that it is dvd quality. My 2 cd 5.02 rips are practically dvd quality, but certain compression artifacts (around esges etc) are still noticeable upon examination. I dont go below 1500bkps video bitrate and cannt see how a 1cd rip of a 100min movie can acheive 2 cd quality with a reduced bitrate.

Just interested.

First off, this is a NanDub script for DivX 3.11 that Neverlift has cross-posted to the GKnot, DivX5, and probably a few other threads. It goes without saying that the guy should be ignored.

Using Avisynth to encode DivX 5 is the only way I've seen that actually produces what I would consider high-quality 1 CD rips. When you get down to that low a bitrate, DivX 5's GMC makes a big different in my experience, and using Avisynth to keep the colorspace in YUY2 (which is a good idea to begin with) makes an even bigger difference. Dark scenes look noticably worse when you're letting VDub convert to RGB colorspace. Most people use GKnot, and I assume GKnot uses Avisynth and keeps it in YUY2.

There are some hardcore NanDub users who will tell you that you can always get a better rip with NanDub, but they will always admit that there is NO ONE SCRIPT that will give you great NanDub quality. NanDub is an art that requires a lot of tweaking to get great results. I guarantee that GKnot would do a better job in 99% of the cases than Neverlift's script.

There's a reason most people don't pay attention to Neverlift. Just do a search and see some of the other things he's said. I just saw a post of his yesterday saying that you should use bilinear resizing for a sharper picture. He generally posts just to brag about his system, brag about his FTP, brag about how good the quality is on rips that people have told him suck, etc. The first time I ever saw him posting, he was bragging about how his straight-to-DivX captures looked better than SVCD or other people's 2-pass DivX, and the "proof" he had was a low-res clip with desynched audio. I shudder to think of what kind of rips he has on the 160G site he always brags about having.

Go to the thread he linked to and check it out. He actually argues that you should convert to RGB and you should always use bilinear when you scale down video.

Still at it brett baby?

These settings and profiles are to help the first time rippers.
Maybe you should take the time to help others and make better posts and stop trying to cause trouble ;)
You really make yourself out to look like a loser.

So now you're arguing that you made a NanDub script for "first time rippers"??? If a first-time ripper is trying to use NanDub, they've been listening to the wrong people.

I'm just trying to add a little sense to the things you post. Your posts in general seem to be intentionally misleading. I just feel bad for someone looking for help who sees you talking as though you were an authority on DivX.

That's the problem, really. You see youself as an authority on making high-quality DivX rips, despite the fact that you contradict not only Doom9's guides, but more experienced rippers and common sense in general. The only samples you have ever posted have been ridiculed for their wretched quality.

So forgive me for being overly harsh, but I just try to warn people when I see you in a newbie-type thread. Anybody who does a search for your posts will quickly see that you are frequently contradicted by moderators and other respected members of the forum.

@brett

Your a liar and a trouble maker.

My 1cd rips look very good and this profile should help anyone make a good 1cd rip.

And yes I'm damn good at making 1cd rips and help alot people, not just here. Anytime you wanna compare movies bring it on.

Im getting tired of you coming into all my posts and starting this bullshit boy!
