I think that now is the moment 2 make this step. I think that posting our parameters will make our encodes quicky and great (sometimes we want 2 encode and go 2 sleep righ dudes!!) So here's my first step:
MEMENTO
108 minutes
Filled on 2cd's
XVID code
Bitrate: 1348 kbits/s
Audio on AC-3 (spanish)
Bits/(Pixel*Frame): 0,295 90% of 0,327
Resolution: 672x272
Alt. Curves OFF
Amazing.... try it and tell me.
Kisses from spain... I hope this idea goes UP AND UP!!!!

This is perhaps an idea better suited to a website, or it might create some SERIOUSLY large posts. But either way, here's a few thoughts:
- First and foremost, it is very important to know WHICH VERSION of a
dvd you are encoding - for example Spanish region 2, as seems to be
the case here. This is important since differing versions exist in
different countries. Just one example is the frequent cutting and
censoring of movies in the uk (though the situation there seems to be
bettering, with the advent of some new laws) and germany. Just check
out a site like www.melonfarmers.co.uk to see that this is a
widespread problem. Another is the fact that different versions of a
film throughout the world are not all necessarily from the same
transfer. So since not all source dvds are equal, it is vital to know
what version you own, to take advantage of posted parameters.
- In addition to your parameters, it would also be interesting to know
WHY you made those choices for that exact title.
Just my 2 cents...

Thanks dude... anyway I think that may help, I think that if the movie is 10 minutes up or down doesn't affect 2 much to the final parameters... :)
Anyway I will share all my encodes... and here's my new one 4 2day:
DINOSAUR
78 minutes 45 seg
Filled on 2cd's
Bitrate: 1738
Size: 704 x 384
Bits/(Pixel*Frame): 0,257 compressibily test : 69,5% of 0,370
Audio on AC-3 (english)
Encoded in Xvid
2ndpass-1stpass
VERY HIGHT 6
MPEG
Minquat 2 Maxquant 31
2ndpass-Int
VERY HIGHT 6
MPEG
Minquat 2 Maxquant 31
Altt curves OFF.
All the rest untouched.
Wow... incredible image try it guys.

Any suggestions for 'Tiger and Dragon' PAL?
btw, it might be worth to think about the format for the posts. i suggest, make some template file with a text editor and paste it into the post using the 'code' tag. in that wa you could also make a table becuase fixed font is used with this tag.
[code]
VIDEO STREAM Time: Res: Cropping: Aspect: BitR/Videosize:

I tried to encode the ALI movie with Xvid and it came out bad for me :(, this was my first Xvid rip so I probly did something wrong. The run time for the movie was 156 Mins. I tried to fit it on 2 CD's but the quality came out awfull. I used the specs strait from the Doom9 Guide.
The Bit/Pixel = 72.6
The Resolution = 640x256
Should I make it a 3 CD rip?
Thanks for help, I really want to use Xvid. Then Hopefully I will try SBC for fun :)
