Repair audio hiss on svcd

Hi this problem is not with an encode using dvd2svcd.
All my dvd2svcd's are mint as usual.

The problem that I have is that I got some svcd's from a m8 and the picture quality is good and there is no lipsync but there is quaite a loud audio hiss through them all.

Any way I can rerun the audio through a filter or something and reburn them again easily?
Is it possible to just put the mpeg2 files through an audio filter or do you have to remove the audio from it.
If so how?

my attempt would be:
Demux, convert to wav, use cooledit to eliminate hiss, convert back, mux.
However, a search might reveal a tool that can do this without all the conversions...

Few tools are around to edit MPEG-2 files directly, but that doesn't mean such a tool exists. A job for Google, methinks :)

I have cool edit but I dont know if you can just eliminate the hiss from the mpeg2.
Is that possible?
Is the other prog you are talking about called lame?
Need some more help folks please.

ux suggested you cut the audio from the MPEG-2 file, convert it into .wav and edit it with cooledit, then convert it back to MP2 and remux it back with the video.

I suggested you search Google for a tool to remove the 'hiss' directly from the MP2 file.

ux suggestion would work I know but I am looking for a program as good as dvd2svcd that will do it automatically.

I have searched through google but can find no program that does that only ones for mp3's.
I only have the mpeg2 files and was looking for a program that will open that file and improve the audio quality in one go.
UltimateDBZ If you know of such a program why not just tell me instead of saying search google which I have.If you dont want to help me then thats fine.

If anyone else would like to inform me of what the exact program is called I would appreciate it.

I am surprised that not one of the 1180 google hits on "mp2 noise reduction" will lead to a suitable program, or a page that could help.
