CCE speeds at what resolution?

I am getting 1.147 RT speed when encoding at 720 x 480 and doing 4-pass vbr. The reason for this rez is to have my dvd player capable of reading the movie. Can any of you post your CCE results including the resolution that you set the encoding for? It seems not many readers include this with their posts.

specs:
dual athlon 1800+
512mb ddr
single 7200rpm

With these specs...is my CCE speed about normal?

Well, I think a lot depends on the movie.

I've got an Athlon XP 1900
512 SDRAM
5400RPM HDDr

On my last movie, Beautiful Mind
I got 1.04 RT. 720x480 Res. VBR 4 Pass
So, your's is even faster - supposedly,
But like I said, I think a lot depends on
the complexity of the stream.

yes it depends on alot of factors, if its pal or ntsc or if its 1.85:1 or 2.35:1, also depends on you bitrate level the higher your bitrate the slower the encode will be as well, so unless you list your detailed specs of the movie and your machine together its pointless to just throw out #'s.

@roman_modin had a doubt myself, its been a long time since i've done those tests so it wears on the memory:)

I disagree on the bitrate.

It has been my experience, that the higher the bitrate that you encode your file in the lower the speed is.

A good example is the ReMPEG 1.5.2, try it. At 20% the speed is about twice faster than if you do it at 90%.

I appologize, it seems that in CCE the higher the bitrate the higher is the speed of enconding.

My comment about rempeg still stands true, though.
