I'm trying to record the songs from the Shrek DVD. When I use Soundforge to record it into a wav file when I'm playing the DVD I get this odd click every now and then. Almost like static. I then decided to rip the dvd then use tmpenc to open the .vob file and seperate the video and audio (mp2). I then used besweet to encode from mp2 to mp3. I then opened up the mp3 in Soundforge and cut it down to size. This worked fine with no problems. Clicking is now gone. But now I can't get the extra songs from the Special Features like the Karaokee song if I do it this way. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any and all answers.

you shouldn't transcode the mp2 stream to mp3, use BeSplit (with WBIAS) to cut it loselessly.

I ripped the stuff from Shrek with the following:

1)Smartripper, find the stream you want, and rip it with stream processing enabled. Select only the audio track and tell it to demux to a seperate file.
2)besweet - seperate it to the two seperate channels in one wave file(or 6 if you did 5.1, but six files) . See the help on the GUI for how to do this.
3)encode with any good mp3/OGG encoder.

Good luck!

Thanks for all your help. I ended up ripping the chapter with Smartripper, then using tmpeg to seperate the audio and then using besweet to convert to wave. Worked great!!:)
