in your experience, is it a good idea to deinterlace a live action ntsc captured avi before serving to cce? will this help or hinder quality or total size? i guess if it's a good idea, i'll also be testing trbarry's new plugin.
separate question, has anyone tried to IVTC a live action NTSC avi and ended up with something that looked ok when played back on a standalone dvd player as vcd? i thought someone had but all i get is choppy motion.
anyway, i plan on doing all filtering and resizing in avisynth, then just using cce's excellent encoding abilities to give me a good mpeg2 output.
thanks
