View Full Version : VCDXBuild created the wrong size bin file

I've converted (3) avi files to svcd with dvd2svcd so far and have had the same problem occur each time. The process works fine all the way through the creation of the bbMPEG_Muxed_File00.mpg file. But, when VCDXBuild creates the bin file it's always only a portion of the movie. The following log was from my last conversion, The Mysteries of Egypt avi file. The bbMPEG_Muxed_File00.mpg ended up being about 600mb, but the bin file file was only about 240mb and when I when I played it, it only containing about 15 minutes of the 40 minute movie.

I'm using CCE 2.5 as the encoder. Here's the log if it helps anyone figure out what's going wrong. Also, on my first (2) conversions of other avi files I ended up with (2) cds each and both times the mpg files were fine and the 2nd bin files were fine, but in both cases the first bin file contained less than half of what was in the first mpg file. Any help would be appreciated.

Doesn't anyone have a clue why it's doing this? I just converted another .avi file and once again it was fine up through the creation of the bbMPEG_Muxed_File00.mpg file which was about 800mb (59 minutes), but the .bin file ended up being only 109mb (8 minutes). Please help - I can't be the only who has ever had this problem. Here's the log from the latest conversion.

If anyone cares I just finished converting another .avi file and as usual it was fine up through the creation of the bbMPEG_Muxed_File00.mpg file which was about 800mb, but the .bin file ended up being only 346mb. Here's the log from the latest conversion. If I'm the only one that has ever had this problem (which is becoming quite apparent from the lack of responses) can anybody make any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong?

Hhmmm ... there are some people with similar problems :). Try this thread: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24894 ... basically load your xml in vcdeasy and watch the output - I suspect sth might be wrong with your mpeg. VCDImager will check your file and might give you some idea what's wrong.

Hi,

I have the same problem, when I was doing a conversion from .AVI to SVCD. I Used TMPGenc 2.56 and 2.57.
When I look at the log from VCDXBuild it Says "Bad Packet Found at xxxx". I also tried to let TMPGEnc do the muxing, then it comes up with a stream error.

What I did was create a SVCD project in Nero and this works fine. When viewing the movie at the point where the bad packet was there were a few seconds of black screen. I don't know why this happens but the only thing I changed was the Bitrate when converting my .AVI file.

I needed to get in one case 74 minutes and in another case 79 minutes of movie on one 80Min CDR. I am now using CCE 2.50 not bumped into the problem yet, haven't tested the prior failing movies though.

I still have the logs from my The Gift conversion, if anyone is interested.
