how do I process captured mpeg2 with dvd2svcd

I capture MPEG-2 with PowerVCRII 720x480 23.976 FPS 9.5MB I-Frames only 192 kbps audio. How can I convert this with DVD2SVCD. I have done tons of DVD conversions... but seem to have some probs with captured stuff. I got PVAStrumento CLI. I load my captured MPEG-2 file start conversion and PVA flashes for a split second and then DVD2AVI does the same... then DVD2SVCD just sits there with 100% CPU. In my movie folder I have: .vob 0bytes, .d2v 1KB, .d2s 3KB, DVD2SVCD.ini 7KB, dvd2svcd_log.txt 1KB, exracted_audio_1.mpa 0KB, PVA_job.txt 1KB and PVA_log.txt 1KB.

I let this run for about 45 minutes before I shut it down. Should I let it run longer?

does your card capture with a MPG extension or PVA? if PVA, can it be renamed to MPG and play normally? sorry but i don't know anything about PVA.

if so, you can use an IFO that meets the size, format, framerate of your MPG and just rename your MPG to VTS_01_1.VOB (i think, thats the file name). to make 100% sure look in the custom DVD2SVCD thread and DVD2SVCD himself said this little trick. I tried it once, worked perfectly.

I'm having a problem sorta related to this, so I'll just post here rather than a new topic altogether.

First off, I have .10, so that's not a problem. Here's the deal: Over the past several days I've been trying to process my captured MP2 file (captured with DVC-II) using PVA2SVCD. I downloaded PVAStrumento as documentation instructed, all was fine.. or not.

Before doing to full-blown process with DVD2SVCD, I tried making a PS with PVAStrumento manually just to make sure it would work. When doing this, there are numerous Alerts about missing frames of audio, GOP stuff, and a few other alerts. These don't seem to cause any problem, as the process goes on. However, at 20%, 24%, and 67%, the process crashes and I get WinXP's standard error dialog requesting me to submit the info to Microsoft (I'd never do). So what's up with that?

So, I tried versions .14 and the latest .20 to see if some bug fix had corrected the problem. No change.

I decided to go ahead and try it with PVA2SVCD, and see what happened (using version .10, of course), but I get that same error/crash.

I've been busily searching the forum and reading steadily for the past couple days, nothing but this topic sparked my interest so far. Hopefully there is a fix... My only next idea was to run PVAStrumento under compatibility for Win98 (or other) OS to see if it was my XP fooling around with me. Anybody think this might help? I'm led to believe if it was XP, mine would not be the only case, and numerous other topics would already document this problem.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the tip, and perhaps later I will give it a whirl. However, I still want to get this PVAStrumento thing to work, it'd sure be nice. So any assistance regarding that matter is greatly appreciated!
