Weird Problem

Hi there ,
I know this is not the place to post this question but I don't know another place (plz guide me if you know sites that deals with xp problems)..So ,I want to get your help to solve my problem with Internet Explorer ,When I click on the Internet Explorer
Icon which lies in the Quick Launch bar ..it takes more than 20 seconds to launch ! I've tried to format the hard disk
but the problem still presist . The same problem happens sometimes when I try to open "My Computer" & "Control Panel"
through start menue . So how can I get rid of the delay problem in windows XP Pro ?
Please note that I have :
Intel Pentium 2 GHz
Intel 845 mother board
512 MB of Ram
windows xp pro installed in Maxtor 60 GB hard disk.

Hey, i thought i was the only one with this problem! I've got Windows 2000 and an Athlon XP processor though. It happens when i start windowed opengl applications, like Nvidia demos. This takes about 20 second maybe even more. There is no hd or cpu activity in these 20 seconds.

And with IE 6 when i right click a picture it takes about 2 seconds before i get the menu.

Sounds like a hardware issue.
Make sure all of your drivers are up to date and installed correctly.
Make sure your bios is up to date.
Might even be bad hardware.
