Hi.
Not a magic wand but worked for me.
Cdrecordable DVDR, Pioneer dvr-a03 firm 1.68 Free
Standalone Sony DVP-S 715 PAL (great device but what a bitch with cdr !) and PS2 pam v4 modded
Windows XP uptodate
IfoEdited movie, rempeg2 or not, cce encoded + maestro...
Always troubles, @X1 or X2, burned with image from ifoedit and Recordnow Max or directly in nero; DVD do not start in stand alone and/or PS2 or freeze in middle of the movie, jump chapter works only sometimes etc...
Nero even wrote me a dvdr and verify it just after writing without error and the dvdr was not even readable in my PC (I/O read error)
Finally I tried Instant DVD v6 (demo) + serialz + update from their web site (you can put any Email with your serialz to access update page)
Update is needed absolutly.
and guess what ?
I reburned 2 projects which never works as it is, drag and drop AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS they are now Ok on standalone and PS2, burned X2
Hope this can help some people.

Tried your method today, still no luck with these crappy ****ing cdrecordable discs. It's not the hardware nor the software (nero) thats the problem, it's the discs.
I get the same error each time while trying to play them in my dvd105s (dvd-rom)- Tracking Servo Failure.
I guess its the same problem with my other players as well, thats a PS2 and a H/K dvd1.
Other brands work fine, like fuji, verbatim and maxell. Never had any problems with them. So it's the discs thats the problem.
Don't buy them....

Humm.
I think everybody has to try by himself.
My experience is cdrecordable are good and cheap media. I had problems with DVD-video, but I burned about 30 PS2 DVD games @X2 without any trouble, working fine in my ps2 and in some other friend's PS2 (PAL)
Also I burned about 15 DVD-r for data storage for my PC and they all works perfectly.
I think it's more a problem of DVD-video compatible softare used to burn (and sometime authoring error of course).
To be totally honest, I must add I had a bad serie of 8 DVD-r in my first 25 package (Production trouble that you can see with your own eyes...).
I didn't send bad these 9 disk as i am in frnace and port to USA cost too much.
You know this can happen when you choose no brand cheap media.
the following 100 pack I get is fine until now (still 30 DVDR left).
I know apple or pioneer causes less trouble, but original DVD works even better ! i prefer cheap solutions.

I add a point.
I use UDF Video, with the wizard.
Then I choose "use type and size of an inserted disc" with, of course, a cdrecordable empty media in the burner.
I get a strange 2293904 sectors, which causes perhaps errors if not set correctly. then click Next and uncheck "the disc contains..blabla..Joliet...". Type your Volume Label also, verify it is UDF 1.01, next, drag and drop AUDIO_TS (empty) & VIDEO_TS from the left window to the bottom one. Next, close the wizard option.
Verify everything is OK and when you are sure (for example the project_name.lay file from Maestro in the video_ts dir), click record (the red circle) and choose X1 or X2, depending your burning-religion (:-)) and Disc-at-once and simul/write options.
Then, WRITE !
my version:
InstantDisc 6.4.0.30
InstantCopy 6.4.0.15
CD-R drivers 6.2.0.39
ISO/UDF Creator 1.0.1.20
ASAPI Interface 5.0.0.02
ASAPI Driver 5.0.0.01
2 more DVD from Maestro working perfectly on PS2, standalone and PC, still with cdrecordable media...

I also noticed that thing with the discs having fewer sectors, never tried clicking it tough. Tonight maybe.

OOpps. There is an error in my "guide".
It's UDF 1.02 format, not 1.01 I use....
