View Full Version : Blockiness only in a part of a movie (done by ReMPEG2)

For some reason there is strange blockiness only in a 10-minute part of a movie done by ReMPEG2 and it gets "fixed" after that period of time. I noticed it while checking the chapters on the disc, as the error was visible in the beginning of a chapter.

Are there any ways to avoid such occurences which might be quite impossible to find if one didn't watch the whole movie before burning it (except for using e.g. TMPGEnc for squeezing the videotrack into DVD-R)?

Have you had any related experiences?

Thank you for any info,

Try CCE instead, it's the best encoding software I've used so far.

Use the Robshot method for encoding. You could always boost the bitrate at that part of the movie where you get blocks.

I'm only a beginner but I've used both ReMPG and Tmpenc and got the best results with CCE.

Isn't it the guide on the main doom9 website? Getting the most out of CCE?...

Thats the one I used anyway and it works a treat for me!

For doing single movies onto one DVD-R, I use this method but set it to multipass but only have 1 and specify my min max and average bit rates. Works a treat!
