While building with Scenarist i received the following errors:

Info Multiplexing
Info Multiplexing VOB Main Stream
Error Video or Audio Buffer underflow: (Dts: 20031054, SCR 20031189)
Error dvd_mux : DoMux Multiplexing Error
Error Terminated Multiplexing (amelie.scn-d_d2v-vfapi-t_t.vob).
Error Total bitrate is too HIGH. Please reduce the stream bitrate or the number of stream.
Error Multiplex is failed.
Info Multiplexing failed, Track<d_d2v-vfapi-t>

Error MuxFromDB:MuxVTS failed
Error Multiplex failed
Error DVD files could not be created

-----------------------------------------------------
Can anyone explain the reasons i received theses errors?

Error #4
Error Total bitrate is too HIGH. Please reduce the stream bitrate or the number of stream.During the encoding with CCE the maximum bitrate setting was 9800 as explained in the ifoedit-cce guide. Is it possible that cce exceeded the max bitrate even though it shouldnt?

The other errors i dont understand at all.

I'm afraid you'll have to re-encode using a lower bitrate... 9500 or even 9000 kbit as max bitrate. depending on bitrate peaks (the 9.8mbit cutoff is not really accurate.. if you use bitrateviewer you can see the bitrate fluctuate and sometimes go above that value). then depending on how many subtitle and especially audio streams you have the bitrate can go over the allowed max bitrate and you'll get such an error.

i think i received the same error before.. ( i think). my problem was i hadnt created the one PGC i needed for my movie, since i am only doin video and audio and nothing else..also as doom9 said try lowering the bitrate..give it a shot. it might work. they show u how to create a PGC in the Scenarist guide. good luck! ;)

if i am wrong i apologize as doom9 knows more :) just a suggestion ..

The DVD was re-authored properly.
Doom9 was right. The maximum bitrate reached 10042. 242bps more than the specified. Therefore 9500 will do the job. Before encoding i will always check the bitrate graph of CCE. If it reaches 9800 i will lower it to 9500 just to be safe.

Other Errors
Error Video or Audio Buffer underflow: (Dts: 20031054, SCR 20031189)
Error dvd_mux : DoMux Multiplexing Error
Are the rest of the errors related to the high bitrate?

I re-encoded the movie and the maximum bitrate was 9662. I tried to repeat the reauthoring process however i received the exact same errors!
I removed the DTS soundtrack and repeated the process. Everything worked fine! Doesnt scenarist support DTS sound? I was under the impression that it did. If it does then why was the dts sound causing these problems?

700kbit or 1.5mbit DTS?

9600 + 700 == more than the dvd spec.

You mean that the bitrate of each asset is added up and it must below 9800? that doesnt sound logical to me. Do i need to add up the bitrate of the Dolby digital sound as well? or just dts?

The max 10.08mbps. For those in doubt, check the 14th page of the Scenarist User Guide. This includes all media you put into the scenario. So if you have a 9800 m2v, you have very limited extra for audio. You'd probably be able to get away with one audio track, but 2 or more would cause this error. I personally always run CCE with 9500 or less, and uncheck DVD COMPLIANT. If I have many audio streams, I even go as low as 8900 sometimes.

Not actual quotes, just organized questions:Question 1:
What is the difference if you uncheck DVD Compliant?Question 2:
Do you know any program that shows the bitrate of ac3 files?Question 3:
Does Maestro has the same 10.08mbps limit? Is the limit a universal standard for all authoring programs?I guess a simple way of predicting a safe max bitrate for the movie is to check using bitrate viewer what the maximum bitrate of the original dvd is.

Note: Suddenly adding DTS turned into a very bad idea :D Besides (almost) noone has the hardware for it, except cinemas.

Q: What is the difference if you uncheck DVD Compliant?
A: From what I understand, if you don't uncheck DVD Compliant, the max bitrate is set to 9800 even if you set it lower. The DVD Compliant checkbox overrides the bitrate you set, apparently.

Q: Do you know any program that shows the bitrate of ac3 files?
A: HeadAC3he is reported to have this feature, many others probably do also.

Q: Does Maestro has the same 10.08mbps limit? Is the limit a universal standard for all authoring programs?

A: This 10.08mbps limit is actually a DVD-Video specification, according to the Scenarist guide. The actual words used are "DVD-Video can sustain transfer rates of 10.08 Mbps, maximum, for video
and audio together. However, the DVD Specification limits the maximum
bit rate for MPEG-2 video to 9.80 Mbps or less. MPEG-1 video is limited to 1.856 Mbps or less." This leads me to believe that this isn't a Scenarist setting, it's a DVD standard.

Anyone who knows more about any of these Q & A feel free to add on :)
