divx encoding in Mac OSX? Is it possible?

I "might" be getting a dual 1ghz Power Mac with 1gb RAM at work. I'm planning to utilize it to do divx encoding overnight when I'm at home. I know you can run virtualPC that allows me to use windows apps. But are there OSX apps or freebsd-compatible linux apps that will allow me to achieve such goal?
