Hello!

To stop the capture, i press the ESC butten, and than the PC freeze :-(
After the boot, I start VD and load the AVI File, but the "AVI Import Filter" starts!!, because the last index block is missing!
But the programm doesnīt repair it -> when I close VD and open the file again, the Import filter starts :(

And now VD shows that the film is 21 minutes long and hast only 32000 frames -> BUT the film is 01:46:00 minutes long!

My System:
CPU: AMD TB 1333 Mhz
RAM 256 MB
OS: Win2000, WinXP, Win98
Harddisk: Seagatte 80 Gb

Has anybode the same problem ?

Many Thanks

Do you have some Anti-virus active? Sometimes they want to check the (very) loong .avi-file and then it may look like the machine got hung.
You could try to open then file and check the 'Popup extended' then check the re-derive keyframes, I'm not sure it will help but you could try...
How big is the file?

Hi!

I use Win2k and no programms run in the background!
The file is 40 gigs big!

But I tested a short sequence -> only 10 secounds long, and the same problem appears!

You could try to open then file and check the 'Popup extended' then check the re-derive keyframes

How does it work ??

In the Open dialogue there is a checkbutton 'Popup extended' and then when you click open a new dialogue will appear with the 'Re-derive' checkbox. It will then scan the file and not just rebuild the index but also find, and flag, the keyframes. Maybe this can rebuild some more of you file.
But, the main-problem, the freeze... Hmm... Is this a new problem or has it never worked for you? Do you get the same behaviour if you use XP?

Now and then the problem appears

I realy donīt know why :(

I used Huffyuv, and sometimes the PicVideo Codec

Yes the problem also appears under WinXP

Hi!

Is it possible that VD has problems with the HUFFYUV Codec ?

Because I tested 5 - 10 sec, pressed after that the ESC button and the PC hangs up! -> Nothing works, no mous, no keyboard

Than I make some captures which has also a length of 5 - 10 sec with the Pic Video Codec, and it works, no hang up!!

Many Thanks
