I have used SpruceUP for quite some time now, alongside Maestro, purely as a means of "almost-instantaneously" checking out playback of my streams using VOB filters (these scale the encoded results far more smoothly than MediaPlayer just playing back the raw MPEG streams (MediaPlayer scales so poorly that it is easy to mistake poorly scaled footage for footage having macro-block distortions, akin to those you would expect from a lack of bitrate)). Anyway, imagine my surprise when, having finally configured the RAID array on my new desktop, and installed Win2k cleanly, I found that every time I attempted to run SpruceUP, it rebooted my entire system - POW! - no warning, no messages, just like I hit the reset button!!
I reinstalled it 3 times, even restored the image I had taken of the clean Win2k install (using Powerquest Drive Image), prior to installation of Appz, but STILL it reset my system every single time. I then unplugged my two RAID drives, and restored my Win2k image again, rebooted with the clean setup (minus the presence of the RAID drives), and reinstalled SpruceUP. Guess what - it ran perfectly with no resetting. SO then I shut down the system, re-plugged the two RAID drives into the RAID sockets on the MoBo, and rebooted. Everything ran smoothly. Once I got into Windows, I clicked on SpruceUP - SPLATT! - the system reset itself again - conclusion - it is apparently impossible to run SpruceUP on a system with RAID!!!!!
Quite why this should be, is a total mystery to me, but I'm damn-well not gonna ditch my RAID drives - SpruceUP is going out of the window instead.
Anyone care to enlighten me on this issue? NO OTHER APPLICATION has this issue, not even Maestro...
