Hi
I've proved this guide but i'm still having errors and i don't know how to get help, i'read the guides for every program and i found them easy but something is wrong when i do the CCE robshot method and in the graphic tab i dont get any colours , and there aren't flows only a line without colors and the guide specifies there are grey areas but nothing, then i do the next step and so on and when i arrive to pulldown nothing happens, i open and write commands and it takes aprox 3 mins and is finkished but the output file is not there, could someone help me???
And would be fantastic if one of those great programmer could get all in one just as DVD2SVCD but maybe calles DVD2DVD!!!!

I assure you it does work, save for the multiple PGC titles (read WB) which I listed it does not. As Kilroy mentioned, it is probably only a simple step somewhere that you are missing causing you trouble or some of your software is malfunctioning. (Have you used the software to do other things besides what's listed in the guide? Is any of it new or has your configuration changed recently?) Like I said, there is probably something simple you're missing somewhere along the way. It may seem tedious at first but it really does become second nature once you've grown accustomed to the tools and the process.

I trust you and tah's not the matter, i've always used DVD2SVCD because i haven't got enough time to process every step myself but since i bought my pineer dvr104 i'm trying to copy my DVDs and your guide is the clearest and useful i've found among 6 i've read, so the problem is that i'm doing a DVD for the first time and i was looking for automatic processing, now i've changed program versions, pulldown was buggy and i tried with another version succeding but after this when i edit my DVD on maestro the video source times are wrong, my DVD is ROGER WATERS IN THE FLESH and it's 2:32 but in maestro the video streams show 3:10, i ignored it and finished the process but when i opened ifoupdate and followed instructions the message finally appeared the times are wrong original 2:32, authored 3:10 end marked error, what did i do wrong???
I want to say i followed the robshot method puntually but at final step it's different than your because he says i must rename my mpv before pulldown and you say i let it as it is and write in pulldown to convert it from mpv to m2v, is it right both ways???
Then CCE guide is a bit confusing in a part dvd2avi when he says:
Frame Rate = 29.970 fps: Let the preview run for a couple of minutes, then take a look at the Video Type: If it's FILM at a percentage higher or equal to 95% you can activate Forced FILM as shown below. IF it only shows FILM the same applies.
"Otherwise you will have to perform IVTC, the same also applies if the Video Type is NTSC."
How can i apply IVTC and when ??? because i didn't applied it and my video type was NTSC.
Everything in the guide is just clear but i don't understand the robshot part of the desired time in CCE:
Once you've gone through the whole movie and eliminated the gray parts as good as possible have another look at the global size part. As a rule of thumb you add up the size of the video and your audio streams and multiply the whole by 1.05 and you get a rough estimate of the size of the mastered DVD (of course there's the extras that will also take up space) so if you still have some space left you can now increase the global bitrate to use up more space, or you may be able to squeeze even a 2nd movie onto the same DVD-R. In any case, if you only have green parts it should be very hard to tell the difference between the original DVD and your copy.
Where can i see the total time in the chart????
How do i work with this whole part???
Because i only did one pass of CCE as in you guide mentions that if we can get a filesoize less than 3gb for the first time we're done so i did, my file was 2,6 gb, am i wrong???
I think i made a mistake in this part and that's why my video source was bigger than the original.
Could someone help me????
Thanks both of you...

svcdentro, ill try to help bud.. basically load the vobs in dvd2avi..put it on NONE for now and start to preview it.after a few minutes if it reads FILM, progressive or FILM of a percentage of 95% or greater, then u can FORCE FILM the project and save the .d2v and the .ac3 file..if it is less than 95% or says INTERLACED then u have to perform IVTC. if it is interlaced u leave it to NONE and when u get to the MAKE THE .AVS file stage in CCE u need to add the decomb.dll command line in the .avs file along with the decomb settings which i atm do not have on me they are at home. search around on the site or forum and u will probably find what i mean or maybe someone else can help on that..
As for your second question im not clear as to what u mean but ill try to help. there are only a few parts of the advanced settings i believe from reading the guide u have to worry about..
1) Q factor - lower the better, something under 9
2)a little above the Q factor u will find the output size i believe. if u adjust the avg bitrate u will find after waiting for it to calculate it, it will be an estimate of the output size.also use min bitrate of say 300 or even 0, avg calculated from a calc or manually after the first pass as i told u from above.i would say try calculating the bitrate with a calc first then maybe tweek..i hope this helps.if u have anymore questions ill see what i can do. good luck! ;)

There are only a few things i can't understand at this time but i'll do it with practise and just need some guidance, almost all of them are CCE related but i read the robshot again and again and think i need a guide in a minor level that emphasize certain details this guide takes as understood:
1.- The ITVC phase, how can i activate it, just in case i need it, and where?
2.- Avisynth, i downloaded it but there are no exe files, how can i use it and install it? I used VFAPI to make the process and i found it easier but do i need avisynth for specific work or can i survive with VFAPI???
3.- Robshot mentions after the VFAPI section of the guide this next paragraph:
If you have CCE 2.50 you can use Avisynth instead which is a bit more complicated, but also much faster. Start up notepad and paste the following lines into it. Then replace the path of mpeg2dec.dll with the actual path of the file on your system and do the same for the mpeg2source command. The last line is used to trick CCE into believing that the input file has an audio track. Otherwise CCE would crash when being run on an AMD processor.
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\GORDIA~1\mpeg2dec.dll")
mpeg2source("D:\rmd\rmd.d2v")
ResampleAudio(44100)
But i'm confused and don't know what to do, besides i don't know how use mpeg2dec and if it's needed and how can i install it because it's a DLL. Where can i find a good guide for this?
4.-The second part in CCE with the big chart and the graphic with the wave green, yellow, red, that mentions i can control de size of my final file but i don't know wher can i see the size increasing when i modify the bitrate settings, is there a clearer guide to this step???
5.- As i mentioned before i got my file after CCE procesing and it was 40 mins bigger, i din't know what happened but that's the problem and ifoupdate showed me an error when i tried to update the ifos marking the original time 2:32 and the modified time 3:10 have you experienced this problem? What do you think about it? What could be wrong?
Thank you for your help and if this is not the place please give me a link to the specific guides....

1) i have a simple fix to your problem...Download GKnot, the upgrade .26(i believe thats the version) and install it into the default directory..that will give u mpeg2dec.dll and avisynth. then all u have to do is open up notepad, paste the lines
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\GORDIA~1\mpeg2dec.dll")
mpeg2source("D:\rmd\rmd.d2v")
ResampleAudio(44100)
for the .d2v file, this is where u put the location of YOURS you made with dvd2avi..for example yours may be on C:\Matrix\matrix.d2v or whatever so u would put that whole directory in the example like this..
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\GORDIA~1\mpeg2dec.dll")
mpeg2source("C:\Matrix\matrix.d2v")
ResampleAudio(44100)
if u install gknot to its default directory u do not need to worry about the first line address. as for the innterlacing that is not to difficult either..u would just add this but MAKE SURE u have the update to Gknot .24 which would be .26 i believe..(download the gknot package then look in the archive new section for the gknot update).
to do IVTC IF u need to, but as i said in an earlier post, check and make sure that u need to, many of times u dont..check the settings i gave u earlier. for IVTC it will look like this( it shouldnt be wrong)
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\GORDIA~1\mpeg2dec.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\Program files\gordianknot\decomb.dll")
mpeg2source("C:\Matrix\matrix.d2v")
telecide()
decimate(cycle=5)
ResampleAudio(44100)
this is the FINAL file u will have , of coarse with your .d2v movie whereever that is.. then u go to file->save as, put file type on All files, then save as (include quotes, and for this example) "matrix.avs". this will save it as a .avs file u can use in CCE.
2.)As for your file size question, in CCE look to the right of the Close button in the Advanced Settings ( place where that big disgusting graph is lol) u will see a outlined box that says Stream Information.. it says frames, fields and bytes.. BYTES is the approx filesize i believe..if u change your avg bitrate and hit the set button at the bottem left u will see it move after it processes it..give it a sec or so.. this should help u out for now :)
if u have any questions come in the channel and ask..good luck! let me know how u make out
