Hello all,

Can BeSweet cut or lengthen an AC3 file depending on the AV delay figure without re-encoding the AC3 file?
If so, can someone give some examples, please.

thanks

this answer might be beside the point but anyway ...

cutting of ac3 can be done with besplit. delay can be adjusted in nandub.

to me, it seems to be one of the general disadvantages of lossy formats, that they cannot be edited as easily as so called non-lossy formats. yet, until we get the terabyte floppy we will probabely have to cope with that.

for A/V negative delay, read q24 here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15738).
for positive delay, try using AC3 Corrector.

anyway, the resoultion of BeSplit or AC3 Corrector is 32miliseconds.
so, for a delay of, let's say, 66miliseconds, you'll get 64milis.
