Hi,
Someone on a french forum told me to use Besweet to repair a broken MP3 (when i try to play it in winamp, i get : no mpeg header found).

He told me to use the WaveMP3 output option.

When I do that (Besweet and GUI), a dos windows opens. it's written :

BeSweet v1.4b13 by DSPguru.
--------------------------
Using mpglib.dll v2.00 by Michael Hipp (mh@mpg123.de).
Using lame_enc.dll v1.28 (4/6/2002), Engine 3.92 <http://www.mp3dev.org/>.

[00:00:00:000] +------- BeSweet -----
[00:00:00:000] | Input : e:\mpeg\soiree mariage.mp3
[00:00:00:000] | Output: e:\mpeg\essai3.wav
[00:00:00:000] | RIFF header will be added
[00:00:00:000] | Floating-Point Process: Yes
[00:00:00:000] | Source Sample-Rate: 48.0KHz
[00:00:00:000] +-------- LAME -------
[00:00:00:000] | 'abr 128' preset is used
[00:00:00:000] +---------------------

and then ... nothing. The comp runs 100% but nothing happens. The size of my output file is still zero. Is there a problem? Should I wait?

have I missed something?

Thanks for your help.

Stephane

to repair your tracks, use BeSplit ;)

advised commandline :
BeSplit -core( -input "e:\mpeg\soiree mariage.mp3" -prefix "e:\mpeg\fixed" -logfile "e:\mpeg\logfile.txt" -type mp3 -fix )

Doesn't work with Besplit. It tells me that the file has been fixed but the new file has 0 bytes and there is still no mpeg header...I can't see anything in the main window... just like if there was still nothing in my original MP3...

I don't know where I got wrong with Besplit...:(

looks like the file is simply not mp3..

But it was a MP3. I'm sure of it. I've done it myself from a DV recording and I played it many times.

One day, it refused to play.

Is there anything I can do ? or just cry ? :)

My original files are from 2 to 5 Megs. Small pieces of conversation I had converted into MP3 in order to send them by email.

could you upload that 2mb mp3, so we can check it out ?

I guess my files are corrupted on the hard drive. When I try to rar it, I get a 2kb file. If I open it, I have no error message.
The size might be wrong.

Never mind, I gonna try with Easy Recovery. May be it might help.

Anyway, thanks for your time and patience. I do appreciate ;-)
