I encoded a PURE interlace movie with perm subs back to DVD-r with dvd2svcd.

And After burning I see that I have flipped fields. Upon checking the m2v CCE made ...in DVD2avi and Bitrate ....the video has become Progressive.

this is damn strange since I can clearly see the field jitter on an NTSC monitor, furthermore ...in DVD2AVI there is an exact match between coded & playback frames which means NO PULLDOWN is in effect. Indeed ...there was no pulldown version of the m2v...produced by DVD2SVCD.

Any advice on how to reverse the field order without rencoding everything? Is the field order broken in CCE2.5?

You can change the field order flag by using a utility called ReStream. I don't remember where I got it, but Mr. Google will surely help you out (if it's not in doom9's files) . It writes a new m2v file so no need for a re-encode.
