Chumboy,

From your emphasise on "Good" does that imply you know of a bad one ?

I currently use "DVD-R Calc" which I downloaded from this site.

I usually knock off 2-3% from the calculated scale factor, but that's only becaue I'me being a bit cautious. I hat doing 20hrs worth of transcoding to find I'm a few bits over the limit.

What experiences do you have in this area ?

i've backedup 125 flicks so far.
48 of them transcoded/rempeged.

i was using a bitrate calculator that always got me within 100meg of the 4.3 limit.

i reformatted my hd and lost this bitrate app.

it had a "blue star" as an icon on your desktop....don't remember it's name though.

just trying to find it...or another that's just as easy.

i've tried dvd-r calc.
