im looking to buy a new dvd player that plays svcds and vcds also. i have alot of the hq centropy releases such as spiderman, and starwars episode 2. i already own an rca dvd player that claims it plays vcds and svcds but everyone ive tried ive gotten a no disc error. so i was wondering who can tell me which dvd player that not just claims it can play svcds and vcds but actually does. price is also a factor. under 150 would be good. so if anyone has any suggestions and knows for a fact that they play vcds and svcds please tell me.
thnx

I can't give you a recommendation. Just a hint: (S)VCD compatibility is one issue, CD-R(W) compatibility is a separate issue. You might have a player that plays pressed VCDs perfectly well, yet fails to read CD-R(W) media and thus won't play any burnt VCDs ...
Check this list http://vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDname=&DVDselect=RCA&Submit=Search&Search=Search&price=100000&rate=0&comments=0 for what other people have to say about your particular RCA player and about media types supported by your player - compatibility is sometimes manufacturer-dependent, and sometimes CD-RW media will work where CD-R fails.
