7gyg to a dvd-r ?

i have a question:)
If i rip only the movie from a original dvd and those files are
7 gyg is there a way to get those files on a dvd-r ?? Like i want
to copy the matrix and ript only the movie from it but those files are 6,5 gyg. please if someone can help me ?? please :)
