I am trying to create a backup of Training Day using CCE, scenarist and IfoEdit.
The VTS_02_x.vob(except VTS_02_0.vob which is the menu) files contain the main movie, a theatrical trailer, studio logos and FBI Warnings/copyrights. There are 7 different VOB IDs.

VOB ID 1: Nothing! just a black screen!
VOB ID 2: Warner Bros Logo
VOB ID 3: Film Rating (R)
VOB ID 4: FBI Warning
VOB ID 5: Theatrical Trailer
VOB ID 6: Part of the Movie
VOB ID 7: The rest of the Movie

What i want to do is re-encode the main movie to the required size, re-author using scenarist, and finally mix the files of scenarist with the rest non-modified VOB files using IfoEdit.

How can i re-encode just the movie? If i create a DVD2AVI Project and then use VFAPI Converter to create a pseudoavi for the CCE Encoding, everything will be reencoded including the movie, the trailer, the warnings, the logos.I will get an .mpv file with everything in the order presented when the VTS_02_x.vob files are previewed in DVD2AVI.
Is this the correct way to do it? Will i be able to separate the mpv file into 7 VOB Ids like it was previously, using scenarist? I definitetly dont want to watch that linear .mpv video when i press the Play Movie button.

I am not sure what i must do. I need your help.
Note: I am following the IfoEdit & CCE guide (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ifoedit-cce.htm )

PS: God i love those 4.37GB movies :D

I am sure some of you copied a movie which had multiple VOBIDs in a single VTS. What did you do? I am in a tight spot here.

Thanks for your help RECYCUP.
Once the re-encoding of the movie is complete i will need to recreate the vob files using scenarist. Since i want to keep the theatrical trailer and the studio logos will i also have to strip them out as well and then add them in different PGCs in scenarist? Is there a simpler way to do it like replacing the last two vob ids with the encoded .m2v file without affecting the other vob ids?

I am not sure if ifoedit allows that.

Hey folks ......

I need to extract an image stream ...eg. image001.tga, image002.tga....image999.tga. from an m2v/mpv

file format can be tga,tif,bmp,jpg.

Anyone got a link to a utility that would do that with an mpv or m2v source file?

Premiere6.0 does not accept these files as a source file.

@Mosaic Posting more than once, and posting off topic are both violations of the rules.

It sounds like what is happening is that you are working with a multiple Title/PGC VTS. If this is the case, the correct procedure is to duplicate the ifo structure just like the original is. Don't look at the vobids, per se. Look instead at the Titles (TTNs) and PGCs. You need to have one .m2v for each PGC you have in the ifo, and a corresponding audio stream. Reauthor using a good authoring program, making sure to create additional Titles and PGCs to where your reauthored ifo mirrors the structure of your original ifo.

How can i identify the different Titles and PGCs? is each vob id a different title or PGC?

Thanks for you help

load the ifo in ifoedit.. the first screen will already tell you what you're looking for ;)

Yes, listen to what Doom9 replied. In addition, I'll answer your last question: PGCs can be one or more vobids, it's not set in stone.
