I converted a Pal 1:.06 hours long music DVD. I wanted 37 mintues on the first SVCD and the rest on the 2nd DVD. Instead after long 13 hours it put 0:44.:49 mintues on the first SVCD and the rest on the second SVCD. My setting in the Bitrate Tab were

0-37 mintues 1 CD
37-76 Mitues 2 CDs
Max 2530
Min 300
Min Avg 1850
Max Avg 2230

Why did that happen?

Next question is what are the best settings, I do not care about the number of CDS I have to use? About 30 mintues per CD is my aim.

Next question is that DVD2SVCD cuts out 2nd CD in the middle of a song, is there a precise way to edit at the correct time (End of a song).

I am a newbie, so please keep it simple english.

Thanks.

the answer is that d2s cuts the mpeg at the midle not at the 37 minuts, what you nedd is to make one batch encode, is very simple:
choose the ifo, and activate ripping 8 even if you alredy have the dvd in the hd, then choose the chapters you whant to have in the first cd, then use the rip only function. repete for the second cd, and after you have this finished run the dvd2svcd batch file.

Hello iceman,

seems you are misinterpreting the "Bitrate" tab. Please see Q36 from the Q&A and take your time reading it. ;)

And clixomano's suggestion is the way it can be done - see Q46 for a detailed instruction (make sure to read the hint also).

So you can rip by chapters and you choose at which one to split and also the default settings in the "Bitrate" tab are pretty good - only thing to change is to set all CD sizes to 800 MB - I guess nobody is using 74 minute CDs anymore. ;)

Hope thsi helps,
Gerti
