View Full Version : weird error/filetype? problem... no idea. help!

when i try to play the movie in wmedia player, the error box pops up, the same as when you try to play unsupported types or incomplete divx movies. though as far as i know it's complete, the guy i got the movie from says his filesize is the same as mine and his works. i loaded it into divfix to rebuild the index and it says NOT AN AVI FILE. when i try to open it in nandub it says CANNOT DETERMINE FILETYPE. what else can i do????

Hi-

Do you have the correct codec installed? Maybe have the guy make an .sfv for it to send to you to check if it got corrupted during the transfer.

i have all the codecs installed and that wouldn't explain why both of those programs didn't recognize the filetype. also, somehow my copy of the file is about 500 bytes bigger than his ? how did that happen?

it sounds like a renamed ogg media file.

fetch tobias' filters from http://tobias.everwicked.com/ (oggds0991.exe), install them and see if you can playback the movie then.

look at the FOURCC code?
