Support for Dolby Prologic 2 ?

Excuse me for disturbing all forum members again, but I again come up with a question for which I didn't find a satisfying answer around here up to now :D
As everyone else here I would like to make the best of my encoded movies and that includes making use of my home cinema system. So I wondered what audio standards d2s supports through BeSweet.
In the BeSweet part of this forum I found that there is a setting for DPL2 (which should be backward compatible with DPL and the choice for future compatibility) in version b12. Browsing the BeSweet logfile it only says that the stereo mode is Dolby Surround "compatible". The corresponding program call doesn't specify a surround mode either and nor is there a way to selection this option through d2s.
Is there a way to use BeSweet's support for DPL2? Maybe by editing the DVD2SVCD config file prior to audio processing?
Any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated...

Yes, by hacking it:

First download Ressource Hacker (freeware) from http://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/
Start Ressource hacker and Open dvd2svcd with it
Make a search for cbStereoDownmixType, underneath that you'll see this:
Items.Strings = (
'Surround'
'Stereo')
Change Stereo to Surround2
Press the "Compile Script" button up above
Repeat the search and make the same changes again.
Save it
Run dvd2svcd, go to the audio tab select the dropdown button right of the Besweet filename.
Change from Surround to Surround2 (remember to do it for both 2ch and 6ch)
That's it, wasn't that easy?

This is an interesting thread. I have an older reciever which only has DPL not DPL II. But since it is backward compatible I will do some testing.

I will likely do a comparison with the same chapter going thru routine three ways stereo, surround (default), surround2.

1) Hopefully some will do some testing besides myself.

2) Perhaps DVD2SVCD could explain how to get all three options (stereo, surround, surround2) into the dropdown using Resource Hacker. That way one does not have to have two versions, a regular (with Stereo) and a hacked (substituting surround2 for stereo).

3) The hack is almost too easy. I worry that a post like this may lead to some abuse or confusion. Perhaps the Mods will move it to the advanced section.

Could someone please confirm my assumption that I could instead change Surround to Surround2, if I want to keep Stereo as an option. After all, why would I want to keep surround, if I have dpl2?

as i understand correctly I need to go thru these procedures when downcoverting 5.1 ac3 to 2-chan ac3?
I have an ac3 stream which just wont convert properly. I can playback it normally, but when adding it to dvd-project it wont play at all.

WinDVD and PowerDVD dont play it.
DVDTrayPlayer does, somehow.
But still no sound on my standalone.
