Hey there,
I m capturing Video using the Huffyuv lossless codec and raw 44100-16bit-stereo Sound. My videos are of really good quality, but the captured is NEVER 44100KHz.Sometimes its 44.097KHz sometimes its 44.112KHz.I never get dropped frames. The captured video files with WMP6.4 is played with jerky sound.(In the directAudio properties, the buffer is never full and i also think its too little). If i process the sound with an audio program and make it EXACTLY 44100KHz and put it back in the video, the playback is just fine ?!?
How can i fix this captured audio problem ?!?
Thank you for any answers...
Nikitas.

Maybe a dumb question but, are you playing the unconverted (huff) avi? Since then you will definately get the jerkiness. Or do you still have problems with your DivX/Xvid/Whatever-converted avi?

It's not unusual to get that fluctuation in the audio, I get it all the time, and I've never had jerky audio (in the final avi).

...yes i m playing the captured (huffyuv) avi right after capturing it,just to see if everything was ok.I didnt know its "normal" to get stuttering like that, cos until recently (before a stupid security upgrade) I was usint WMP6.4 without any problem...Weird,huh ?!?
And NOT only this BUT also it seems that when i m playing the same Huffyuv captured video AND AT THE SAME TIME right-click somewhere on my desctop (thus making the WMP 6.4 a "backgroung" application, the sound PLAYS OK WITHOUT A SINGLE PAUSE !!!
well,explain this,can you ?!?
Thanx for ur reply though...really apreciated it...

well,explain this,can you ?!? I can't :)
But I know that huff isn't for playback, it's kind of CPU-intensitive, or at least that's what has been said in the past, when we didn't use GHz's...

I guess (i don't really know :p ) it's because the video isn't rendered when hidden and so the huffyuv intensive task frees some resources.

Just my 2 cents.

Anyway, thank you guys for your time...
I now capture using the (definately NOT lossless) Morgan MJPEG v3 codec and i like the quality/compression result I get ,PLUS i can play it ousing WMP6.4 without problems.I dont know why ! Its a fetish of mine to use WMP6.4 just to see if my captured video is ok (!!!).
Then i use CCE 2.50 and get my VBR Mpeg-2 to keep in my HD.
By the way, after your comments i ll surely start using Huffyuv again but with the Huffyuv CCE PATCH installed, cos the codec seems to confuse the CCE during VBR encoding...
Thanx again...
