Hi....anyone have anyluck with the advdinfo program?
I get aspi sensekey errors with it when I try any operation with it. this happens on Both my Win98 and my XP systems. I do have aspi layers running. My scanner is an aspi scsi device and its fine.
Does anyone know of another utility to identify the OEM on CD and DVD?
thx

As mentinooned in Doom9 first post of the thread The ultimate DVD recordable compatibility list, I looked after "foreaspi 2.60".
Guess it is forceaspi but current version is 1.7 and this is the version I have.
Not working for my Toshiba SD-C2502 (laptop Dell Inspiron)
Only the FF is working, but I only need the 0E, obviously.

Try Drive Region Info (http://www.visualdomain.net/) (attached (7k), will be visible when a moderator comes by)

This tool only allow to see Zone info and changes left isn't it ?
ADVDinfo allows to know the manufacturer ID of the cdr or DVDR (and more but this is the only feature I need), which is quite usefull regarding DVDR to clearly identify the manufacturer.

No, you can also see version of the firmware which usually includes the name of the manufacturer. In my case it says: _NEC DV-5800A 1.0A as well as current region and number of changes left.

Ah OK. This is the misunderstanding.
we are looking after the media manufacturer brand not the burner brand...
