I have been using IfoEdit for months without any problems. But on my newly re-done install of Windows 2000, IfoEdit crashes when ever I try to use it to correct the the Vob-Unit navigation pointers:

Vob Extras > Correct Vob-Unit (Navigation Pack) pointers in Vob files

It has never done this before. Anyone experience a similar problem and/or know how to fix this?

By the way the exact error message I get when it crashes is: "IfoEdit.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. A error log is being created"

I've seen this too. I usually try starting again from scratch (from the original VOB files). I also switched to Win98SE which works well (I don't know if it works any better, but it will ignore some software errors that Win2K will clamp down on immediately).

I had the same thing under XP, maybe it'll help you too. I ripped the DVD using smartripper and stripped the streams directly from DVD.
IfoEdit did not like it, so i had to copy the whole DVD (or some VOBS) with DVDdecrypter and let IfoEdit do the strip-streams. Then i had no more crashes.

I experienced a few "PC Crashes" over the past week or so (running XP HE) thought this a bit odd, never had problems before.

So, went out and got a copy of Nortons Utilities.

Installed it, then used it to look for Windows problems.

IT FOUND 87 PROBLEMS !!!!!

Checked the "Fix them all" button.

Not had a single problem since.

One of my better investments.

PS I think I'll run Nortons on a regular basis in future.

Just for the hell of, I ran the trial version of Norton Utilites. It did flag some things, but even after applying the fixes I still had the problem with IfoEdit crashing when try to change the navigation pointers in VOBs.

Also tried running an older version of IfoEdit, still no improvement.
