Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? T_T

I have ripped the VOBS to my hard drive and run DVD2AVI and VFAPI converter to get the pseudo-avi.

However when I start to encode in Virtual Dub(in any format) about 30 - 40 minutes in I always get this error:

The instruction at "0x########" referenced memory at "0x#######". The memory could not be "read".

I have an Athlon 1200 T-bird, 896 MB sdram, 40 Gig maxtor HD.

When I transfer the VOBS and stuff and exact same settings to my old 633 Mhz Intel celeron computer with only 192 MB ram, It works fine. Is there some setting that I am missing? Or is there some compatibility issue.

Any help on how to solve this would be musch appreciated.

Thanks alot.

What version of Windows are you running?

What version of VDuB? of VFAPI? of DVD2AVI?

Do you have a logfile, if so, please post it. These will all help figure out what is going wrong with your encode.

Well, we've got an access violation in there. What codec are you encoding to? Have you tried to create an AVS out of your D2V instead of using VFAPI? I would try this first. If you're going to either of the DivX codecs, I would recommend using GKnot to make your entire encode process about 10 times easier. Another thing to try would be to reinstall your codecs(VFAPI and DivX) and your VirtualDub.
