I'm using Windows 98SE and noticed that occasionally IFOEDIT would crash. I put it down to the fact that ripping DVD's means that you are constantly writing and deleting many Gigs of files on your hard drive ( a lot more than you would during normal useage ). So very regular DEFRAGs and tidying up of the hard drive seem to have worked for me.:D I'm not sure how bad it is with you - but it was only very occasionally a problem for me.
Happy Ripping

I had a problem where under Windows 2000 IFOEDIT wouldn't work. It appeared to work, but it would generate rips that wouldn't play, and sometimes it would refuse to write into the destination directory.
On Windows 98SE I have the occasional crash (also crashes on 2000) but the rips appear fine.

I'm using Win2000 on my video-dedicated computer. I've never had a problem with IFOEdit. Did you have your drive formatted for FAT32 or NTFS?

Was NTFS, but performance was dog slow, so I went back to FAT32. Much faster on my machine. Not sure why -- I read conflicting reports about this.

Who here uses Nortons Utilities to keep their PC in good condition ?? With so much processing power / hours of use, used in DVD ripping it's no wonder that Windows gets screwed up from time to time.
It's a lot easier running Nortons than re installing Windows every week.
